Educating Adolescents
RENATA : National Network of Aunties Associations
As of 2009, RENATA consists of more than 200 Aunties Associations: more than 10.000 teenage mothers themselves are organized as Aunties. Our target is to realize the Millennium Development Goals on the community level by implementing effective and visible activities.
Our role is to:
- Fight against sexual violence on adolescents.
- Fight against harmful practices and all other forms of injustice that young women face.
- Defend the interests of teenage mothers and advocate for them in order to attain the basic necessities.
- Counsel youth on sexual and reproductive health, life skills, and future planning.
- Promote and support all initiatives that give support to teenage mothers and to protect adolescents.
